Account - Permissions and Making Your Assetbots Database Private

By default, anyone with the link to your Assetbots database can access it. If you'd like to restrict access and make your data private, you can set up permissions. This allows you to control who can view and edit your database information.

Here's how to make your Assetbots database private:

  1. Navigate to Settings: Log in to your Assetbots account and click on the Settings icon.
  2. Enable Permissions: Within the Settings menu, locate the Permissions section. There, you'll find an option to enable permissions.

Once permissions are enabled, you can choose how you want to share your database:

    • Anyone with the link (default): This mode remains accessible to anyone who has the original database URL. However, you won't be able to control their access level.
    • Only specific users: This option allows you to grant access only to users you invite.  Even if someone has the database URL, they won't be able to access it unless you've specifically invited them.

With "Only specific users" selected, you can invite collaborators and assign them permission levels:

    • Owner: Has full control over the database, including managing users and their permissions.
    • Administrator: Can read and write data, as well as invite users and manage their permissions (except for Owners).
    • Writer: Can read and write data but cannot invite users or manage permissions.
    • Borrower: Can read data and checkout assets but cannot add or edit anything
    • Reader: Can only read data within the database

By setting permissions, you ensure that only authorized users can access your sensitive information within your Assetbots database.
