Adding People and Locations

Assetbots is great as an asset database, but one of the key benefits of tracking your assets is keeping a history of responsibility: knowing who was responsible for each asset at any point in time.

You can add both people and locations to your Assetbots database to keep track of who is responsible for assets, and optionally where assets are located.

Both people and locations are found in the Directory tab. Each record type can be fully customized with custom fields, labels and filters.

Add Manually, One by One

To add a single person or location, navigate to the relevant list and click Add Person or Add Location in the top-right corner. You can also use the keyboard shortcut Shift+P for people or Shift+L for locations. Enter a name and any other information you’d like to collect and click Save.

Once the record has been added, you will be taken to its detail view where additional details can be edited.

Import Assets from an Excel or CSV File

Visit the Settings tab and click Import Data. Select an Excel or CSV file to import and follow the on-screen instructions to map your columns to fields in Assetbots. You can learn more about importing assets, people and checkouts here.
